The Ashby Canal, or ‘Moira Cut’: 0ffers 22 miles of gentle, lock free cruising , leaving the Coventry Canal at Marston Junction in Bedworth, and terminating at the Leicestershire village of Snarestone. It is undisturbed by motorways and barely touches any towns or villages. It even manages to avoid  Ashby-de-la-Zouche

Coventry Canal
From  marina to Coventry and back - 10 hours – 0 locks each way – 0 tunnels
From our marina to Fradley and back – 22 hours – 16 locks each way – 0 tunnels

This is one of James Brindley's canals started in 1768 and leads onto the Trent and Mersey at  Fradley Junction which is now a picturesque site for tourists, far removed from industry it used to service. The canal was originally important for its service to the local mineral and coal mines.

 Oxford Canal

The delightful Oxford Canal runs for 77 miles, connecting  the Coventry Canal at Hawkesbury Junction to the River Thames (or Isis) at Oxford. The South Oxford in particular is considered to be one of the most picturesque and peaceful waterways on the system and has become a firm favourite.

 Black Country Ring

This  popular circular route incorporates many interesting aspects from the Backcountry's  past . It provides a taste of 5 different canals, in an active week’s cruising.

 Four Counties Ring
This historic, active, two week journey will take you through the diverse scenery and historic architecture of Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Cheshire and Shropshire. The more time that you allow for this cruise, the more you will enjoy its rural beauty.

From  marina, to Great Haywood, round the Four Counties Ring and back – 86 hours – 130 locks - 2 tunnels.

 Leicestershire Ring

A rural and varied 164 mile canal and river cruise, that will put your helmsmanship skills to the test.  Including locations like the Foxton Inclined plane ( under restoration) and some interesting tunnels. This fortnight's holiday allows  you to pass through Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire.

Delays can be experienced at one-way tunnels and Foxton Locks at busy times ... do allow for them.

From  marina, round the Leicestershire Ring – 70 hours – 101 locks - 5 tunnels

 Warwickshire Ring

Makes for an active week’s cruise or a leisurely two weeks’ expedition. Based in the heart of the Midlands, the Warwickshire Ring is full of contrasting rural, urban, industrial and metropolitan scenery offering tantalising glimpses into the canal system’s noble history.

There are three versions of the Warwickshire Ring.
The shortest takes you from Salford Junction to Bordesley Junction by way of the Grand Union Canal - 49 hours – 93 locks – 3 tunnels.
Or from Salford Junction, along the Birmingham and Fazeley through Aston Junction and back to Bordesley 51 hours – 106 lock – 4 tunnels.
Or at Aston you may prefer to take in the ultra modern highlights of Birmingham’s canal system by continuing towards King Norton continuing along the Stratford Canal and rejoining the Warwickshire Ring proper at Kingswood Junction 54 hours – 119 locks - 5 tunnels.
