 The Gloucester and Sharpness Canal is set aside by the sheer abition of the project, being at the time of conception the deepest and widest canal in the world.

This historic and picturesque canal  runs for 16 miles to link the Port of Sharpness with Gloucester's Historic docks with the achievement of the project  celebrated in the ornate bridges and bridge houses. The waterway is devoid of locks and the movable bridges are manned by British Waterways staff, so it makes for an easy run, with the added advantage of plenty of water to manoeuver in.
