The Ashy Canal offers lock free cruising through attractive and unspoilt countryside, giving views amongst other things of the Battle of Bosworth Field.
It joins with  coventy canal for routes to th e Grand Union and other waterways.

 Rugby, Braunston, Warwick and Leamington, and to the north Tamworth, Great Heywood, Stoke on Trent and Birmingham are all within reach for a weekly cruise, with access to the wider waterway network for the more adventurous

You can have a very nice short break with no locks, but if feeling adventurous you could venture far enough to pass through Sutton stop lock - the rise and fall is a just a foot or so."
